Chapter 477: Resentment

William’s gaze froze momentarily when he noticed the tiger and the seemingly ordinary rock by its mouth, “Is that number 0?”

Based on the intel acquired, the apostle responsible for the theft of the aerolite fragments, number 0, had the power to mutate into different animals.

Tigers definitely did not exist in this part of the world, which meant that he was number zero. From there, William even deduced that the rock was the aerolite he had been searching for.

Meanwhile, Zhao Yao had assigned William a new mission via his illusion.

“Defeat the seven supercats standing in front of you and you will be rewarded with strength + 0, speed + 0.”

“I guess today is my lucky day. This journey has led me all the way to the aerolite. I even managed to snag a few missions on the way here.” A smug smile spread across William’s face as he rested the metal bag gently against the ground, “Number 0, I’m assuming that you are the leader of this island. By extension, does that mean that I gain control over every single cat here if I defeat you?”

Sweat trickled down his spine when Cat Sage heard those words. It had been a long time since someone last referred to him as number 0. Immediately, his eyes darted in William’s direction, pinning him down with his ice-cold glare.

“This guy, did he come all the way from America?” A certain viciousness returned to Cat Sage’s expression, “Since it has come to this, I have no choice but to capture him.”

While Cat Sage was still caught up in his thoughts, a resounding explosion had already echoed in his ears as William’s body teleported in front of him. William’s punch tore through the air particles, producing airwaves which swept across the surroundings as it went straight for his target – Cat Sage.

Immediately, William’s body bounced off at an even faster speed as he crashed into the forests, bulldozing the trees in his way.

“D*mn it,” William struggled to return to his feet. Somehow, that menacing tiger had already evolved into a daunting and gargantuan dragon. The dragon’s eyes were fixed on him, with no signs of fear.

Cat Sage ordered coolly, “Kill him.”

Immediately, the six supercats acted on his orders.

Soil, grass, and rocks fell from the sky like projectiles, pelting William. This was the work of Cheese.

Suddenly, a monstrous dark cloud loomed over their position. Lightning seemed imminent and it was aimed straight at William. This was Kimchi’s power.

The four remaining supercats cast their individual powers, commencing their combined attack on William.

Zhao Yao noticed the turn of tides and reacted by supplementing William with 30% of his deflective field. This was the perfect opportunity for him to understand the supercats on the battlefield.

...

Fish Ball was ambling across the plantation department as he withheld a giant yawn, “Those females cats sure are troublesome, but it’s okay. I’ve finally taken care of them. With my superb performance, I believe I have elevated myself to quite an envious position in the department.”

“Rice Cake?”

“Noodle?”

Fish Ball called out as he sauntered in the forest’s direction, “Hurry and come out now! Stop playing! The department head has called for a meeting!”

Despite how loud he called, no one responded to him. Their unresponsiveness was starting to get on Fish Ball’s nerves, “D*mn it, where have those two fools gone to?”

Suddenly, his ears gave a slight shudder. He was sure he heard something. Hence, he bolted in the direction of that sound and saw the useless pair lying motionlessly on the ground. Noodle’s shoulders and head would bob from time to time. It seemed like they were eating something behind his back!

“Hmph, Noodle, is that you?” Fish Ball dashed forward with a look of curiosity, “What are the two of you eating? You guys seem so happy.”

Noodle’s body froze the moment that familiar voice rang in his head. He immediately swept his body around, not forgetting to block the ‘thing’ from Fish Ball’s intent glare.

Noodle then gave a dismissive wave of his paws as sweat beaded his forehead, “It’s ... it’s nothing, hahaha. By the way, what brings you here today? Don’t be shy, you can just speak your mind.”

Suddenly, a look of shock seized Fish Ball’s expression as he pointed his paw in Noodle’s direction, “You!”

Noodle’s heart skipped a beat as he stared dumbfoundedly at Fish Ball, “D*mn it, how did he manage to see through my pretense? I guess I can only kill him ...”

Fish Ball then pointed his finger at Noodle’s belly and exclaimed, “When did your belly suddenly turn so big?”

Noodle could finally breathe a sigh of relief as he answered, “Oh so you were referring to this? It’s nothing. I think it’s because of all the binge eating coupled with my constipation.”

“Oh,” Suddenly, that same appalled expression returned to Fish Ball’s face as he threw his finger in Noodle’s direction, “You!”

“I knew it. He saw through my act!” Unknowingly, Noodle’s lips had already drawn back into a snarl. He responded with an even more ferocious expression.

Actually, Fish Ball was pointing to the spot behind Noodle as he clarified, “What is Rice Cake doing on the floor? Is she okay?”

Once again, Noodle could finally breathe as he replied, “It’s nothing. He just fainted because there wasn’t any internet.”

Fish Ball walked towards Rice Cake before continuing, “Then hurry and wake her up now! The head of department instructed me to inform you guys about the meeting. Quickly go and gather now.”

Noodle nodded his head as disappointment sagged through him, “D*mn it, I ate so much and yet I don’t feel like I’ve grown any stronger. What’s wrong?”

For the split second when Noodle had dropped his guard, Fish Ball had already pounced forward and landed right smack on the spot which Noodle was trying to hide. Fish Ball bellowed in laughter before taunting, “Silly dog, what exactly are you trying to hide? I bet you’re sneakily keeping all the good food to yourself!”

“No!” Noodle’s body flew forward in an attempt to intercept Fish Ball in mid-air.

However, Fish Ball’s expression went blank as he stared wide-eyed at Noodle. Then, his expression changed as he slid Noodle a condescending glare.

Noodle was writhing in pain as he asked, “So you saw it?”

Fish Ball continued to slide him a disparaging glare as he replied, “Did you just eat ...”

“Curry!” Noodle screamed, “I ate lots of curry just now! What’s wrong with that? What do you have against curry?”

“Oh, so it was just curry? I mistook it for something else.” Fish Ball’s upper lips curled as he continued, “I guess there’s nothing strange about a husky eating curry ...”

With that, Fish Ball hurried over to Rice Cake and welcomed her with a few tight slaps across her cheeks, “Hey, Rice Cake, wake up. We should be leaving.”

Unbeknownst to Fish Ball, Noodle had suddenly appeared before him with a pair of bloodshot eyes as he whispered menacingly in his ears, “Actually, you saw it, right?”

The anger was palpable. Fish Ball felt the sweat accumulating on the back of his forehead as it slid down his spine. He ignored Noodle’s words and continued his rapid slaps across Rice Cake’s cheeks to no avail. Hence, he changed his strategy and started dragging her out by her neck.

However, he felt a pair of fangs sank into his calves. He lowered his eyes and saw that same bloodshot eyes with that intense glare, “Do you despise me? Do you think that I’m a pervert?”

Fish Ball felt his heart pounding against his chest. He tried to ease the tension with an awkward laugh, “How can that be possible? We grew up together. Why would I ever despise you? Come on, give me a hand and drag Rice Cake out of this place. The department head said it was urgent.”

Suddenly, Rice Cake’s body began to vibrate once again. There was even some buzzing sound coming from her mouth.

Fish Ball pressed his ears against it only to hear the following words, “I ... want ... my ... internet.”

The voice was so haunting that it sent shivers down Fish Ball’s spine. Immediately, Fish Ball’s vibration started to grow even stronger.

Following that soft buzz, even Noodle and Fish Ball were also affected by the shaking as they started to vibrate violently.

Fish Ball felt as if his skeleton was breaking into two from all the shaking as he shouted, “Stop! Rice Cake! Stop what you’re doing!”

“It’s futile! The emotional turmoil had forced Fish Ball into a deep slumber!” Noodle continued roaring, “What potent anger and pain! I feel it! We share the same pain running down our vein! Rice Cake, wake up! Join me in experiencing the pains of the world!”

Fish Ball retorted angrily, “Same pain down your vein my ass! Rice Cake’s unhappiness is totally different from yours!”
