Chapter 668

“Alright…”

Fu Huai’an agreed.

After he hung up, Lin Nuan asked, “Is today Mom’s death anniversary?”

Fu Wan was Fu Huai’an’s mother, so naturally, she was Lin Nuan’s mother as well…

“It’s her birthday.” Fu Huai’an placed his phone in his pocket. “It was a call from the Fu family mansion. They want us to go back tonight. If you don’t want to go, I’ll stay at home with you! Tuan Tuan can keep Old Madam Fu company.”

Lin Nuan was rendered speechless.

Tuan Tuan was really pitiful, being sent to the mansion when his dad didn’t want to go…

“But is it right to not go back for Mom’s birthday?” Lin Nuan’s brows furrowed slightly.

Fu Huai’an held onto the bookshelf with one hand and placed the books on the bookshelf into the box. He turned his head to the side to look at Lin Nuan and casually said, “Birthdays, death anniversaries—these are all for the living to celebrate. They aren’t important! What’s important are the people around them who are alive and well!”

For some reason, Lin Nuan felt that Fu Huai’an’s words sounded especially convincing.

Fu Huai’an was looking out for Lin Nuan’s feelings, sure, but that person was his mother…

Lin Nuan’s biological father had passed away too. She didn’t know his birthday, but she knew his death anniversary. Every year, on the anniversary of his death, Lin Nuan’s heart still ached for him, and she would burn a stack of paper money at the intersection for the biological father she never spoke to.

Lin Nuan never asked about Fu Huai’an and his mother.

But putting herself in their shoes, Lin Nuan didn’t have the heart to be so selfish…

She held onto Fu Huai’an’s arm and stepped over the cardboard box to creep into his embrace. She wrapped both of her arms around his slim waist and looked up at him, her sweet dimples showing as she said, “I’ll go to the Fu family mansion with you! We should be there on Mom’s birthday!”

Looking at his soft and fragrant wife in his arms, Fu Huai’an asked, “Aren’t you afraid of facing Old Madam Fu at the mansion?”

“With you around, what do I have to fear?” Lin Nuan flashed a bright smile towards Fu Huai’an, her eyes full of trust. “I know that no matter what happens, you’ll always protect me!”

“Right!” Fu Huai’an’s large hands held onto Lin Nuan’s small, smiling face. It was soft and smooth to the touch, and he couldn’t take his hands off of it. “With me around, you have nothing to fear!”

“Well then, pack up quickly! Since we’ve decided to go, we shouldn’t be late…”

“Okay!” Fu Huai’an nodded and agreed. He kissed Lin Nuan’s small lips, as though they had liquid honey.

Her back against the bookshelf, Lin Nuan tiptoed and wrapped both of her arms around Fu Huai’an’s neck, returning the kiss.

Fu Huai’an’s lips were bitten. He put both hands on Lin Nuan’s face and moved away from her slightly. Eyes hooded, he licked his lower lip. He could taste blood.

“Sorry…” Lin Nuan frantically raised her hand to wipe the blood off of Fu Huai’an’s lips. “I didn’t mean to do that!”

In the heat of the moment, Lin Nuan couldn’t help herself, and she kissed him a bit too hard.

Fu Huai’an looked at the blood on Lin Nuan’s slender fingers. He then grabbed her wrist, put her fingers in his mouth, and wrapped his tongue around them…

Fu Huai’an’s mouth felt warm and wet as he sucked on her fingers. The sensation nearly left Lin Nuan feeling suffocated.

The hand that was around Fu Huai’an’s neck tightened. It was as if something exploded, and fireworks were going off in Lin Nuan’s mind. This numbing feeling quickly took over her whole body, and she felt her entire body growing weak.

Upon hearing the door open, Lin Nuan quickly pulled her fingers from Fu Huai’an’s mouth. Her face flushed red, and she turned around and pretended to put books into the box.

Fu Huai’an was rendered speechless.

Little Lu was panting as he walked into the room. Upon seeing Lin Nuan and Fu Huai’an placing things in the box, he rushed over to help, failing to notice that he’d just disturbed his bosses.

When they were done packing, Little Lu instructed people to haul the box out. He was beside Fu Huai’an and Lin Nuan, and together, they checked to see if anything had been left behind.

In all the years that Little Lu had been working for Fu Huai’an, this was probably the first time Fu Huai’an felt that Little Lu couldn’t read the situation…

Lin Nuan had lived in the rental apartment for so many years, and Liang Mulan had even put a great deal of effort into renovating it later on. Lin Nuan had feelings for the place.

Fu Huai’an noticed the longing in Lin Nuan’s eyes and said, “If you can’t bear to part with this little place, I’ll get Little Lu to contact the buyer and buy it.”

Lin Nuan shook her head. “No need. I have a home now! Tianfu Bay… the Cloud Top Condominium, anywhere is home so long as there’s you and Tuan Tuan!”

Little Lu, who had been standing at the side, felt as though his heart had taken ten thousand hits, and he was on the verge of dying.

Since when did their respectable lady boss become this good at public displays of affection…

Her romantic words left him in a daze, and they were said with such sincerity! Little Lu was so moved that he could cry!

Fu Huai’an fixed his gaze on Lin Nuan. If Little Lu wasn’t there, he’d really want to pin Lin Nuan down and fiercely… fiercely take her right then and there!

Lin Nuan’s eyes were so clear, and her tone was so sincere, but Fu Huai’an felt like he was falling deeper into the pool of desire. Hearing her delicate and soft voice made him even more excited!

Fu Huai’an wanted to smoke to hold back his desire, but he couldn’t help but recall how back at the house, Lin Nuan, like a vixen, said she wanted to see what cigarettes taste like.

That kiss, which was mixed with the smell of cigarettes, made Fu Huai’an feel like so long as he smoked… he would think about the sweetness of Lin Nuan’s mouth and her soft tongue.

Fu Huai’an became even more aroused and placed his hands in his pockets. He still looked proper, but his gaze was unfathomably deep.

Bai Xiaonian successfully processed her resignation. The upper management was very swift in letting her go, which she guessed must have been Chu Xun’s work.

Since Bai Xiaonian was leaving, the others gossiped boldly in front of her.

Some former colleagues lowered their voices and spoke animatedly. Bai Xiaonian sat in her wheelchair, listening with great interest…

“A Sunday Date” was originally going to be Haicheng TV Station’s most popular program. Programs from other TV stations couldn’t match up to its viewership ratings.

The viewership ratings were usually high when the program started airing and would be off the charts. But, after Weng Lin took over as the host, within 10 minutes of the program airing, they dropped so much that the newly-appointed producer submitted his resignation before the program had even ended. He said that based on his experience, after a program’s producer and host were replaced, and when the ratings dropped so badly, there would be no hope left for the program…

This producer used to be one of Jinjiang TV Station’s more famous producers. That was until Haicheng TV Station offered him an olive branch and invited him to work on “A Sunday Date”!
